Jun 2, 2023 | by FOL

DWC has sent all stakeholders a reminder about the July 10-12 Texas Workers’ Compensation Conference at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Austin. The “Basics and Beyond” conference provides three days of presentations from professionals with a wide range of skills and knowledge. DWC indicates that “whether you’re new to the world of workers’ compensation or a seasoned professional, this conference offers something for everyone”.

Topics of interest to Insurance Carriers in particular will include:

      • The basics of subrogating Texas workers’ compensation claims
      • The case for case management
      • Life of a claim
      • New legislation and case law updates impacting workers’ comp
      • Ethics in workers’ comp.

Applications will be made for up to 11 hours of Texas CLE credit for attorneys, TDI continuing education credit for insurance adjusters, SHRM credit for human resources professionals, and CDMS and CCM credits for rehabilitation providers. Adjusters must provide an insurance-related license number at the conference. Insurance adjusters must attend all sessions each day to receive credit for that day; no partial credit will be given. A certificate of attendance is provided for other professional disciplines.

More information, including the conference brochure and online registration, can be found on the DWC website at www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/events/wcconference.html.
