Roy J. Leatherberry

Roy J. Leatherberry IV brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Flahive, Ogden & Latson, P.C., where he serves as a Shareholder and Chief Financial Officer. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Roy earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, graduating cum laude in 1991. At the University of Texas, he received his Juris Doctorate with honors in 1993. His academic achievements include membership in prestigious honor societies such as Golden Key National Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi, Phi Eta Sigma, and Phi Delta Phi.

Recognized for his exceptional legal acumen, Roy was awarded the highest class grades in both Wills and Estates and Torts II during his time at U.T. Law. As a former Associate Editor for The Review of Litigation, Roy honed his editorial skills, which he continues to apply as the editor of the annual publication of The Texas Workers’ Compensation Manual since 1995.

In 2004, Roy achieved Board Certification in Workers’ Compensation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, an accomplishment earned in the first year the certification was available, underscoring his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of legal expertise in this specialized field.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Roy is an active member of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. He is also a dedicated family man, father of three children—two boys and a girl—and a proud husband to an elementary music teacher in the Austin Independent School District.
