Darrell Cooper Has Announced His Retirement Effective 8/31/22

After 21 years with the Division of Workers’ Compensation, Darrell Cooper has announced his retirement.  Darrell has managed the Compliance & Investigations group for the last several years. His duties included overseeing audits, data calls and individual violation referrals.  Until this year, he had also overseen Performance Based Oversight (PBO).

Darrell is one of the very few people at the Division of Workers’ Compensation who has experience as a Claims Adjuster in the private sector. That experience gave him insight into claims handling, which is something that few people at DWC possess. Darrell’s retirement is a loss to both DWC and to insurance carriers.

It has already been announced that Diana Ramos will replace Darrel. For the last several years, she has been one of Darrell’s Chief Assistants. She has served DWC for 21 years and brings a wealth of experience to her new position.
