Division Announces 2022 Audit Plan

The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation has announced its fiscal year 2022 audit plan, outlining the number and type of audits insurance carriers will see in the upcoming year. The audits will focus on

        • timely and accurate benefit delivery;
        • timely medical reimbursement; and
        • timely and accurate reporting of electronic data to the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC)

The DWC audit plan describes the scope and methodology related to each audit type. The Division notes that the audit plan is subject to change because DWC may identify compliance areas of concern, audit risk, or data availability issues. such concerns may result in adjustments of audit issues, who the agency decides to audit, objectives, scope, the review period, and the methodology, as necessary.
