Division Seeks Input on Records Retention Changes

The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation is seeking input on potential changes to its records retention schedule for workers’ compensation claim file information. Workers’ compensation claim files contain all records maintained by TDI-DWC relating to certain workers’ compensation claims, including, employer injury reports, employee wage records, medical reports, and requests for dispute resolution.

TDI-DWC’s draft changes to the records retention schedule are aimed at improving administrative efficiency in the agency’s recordkeeping, while ensuring that TDI-DWC fulfills its statutory mission.

The draft of potential changes to the record retention schedule will be posted on the TDI website at www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/rules/proposedrules/index.html. The public comment period closes Thursday, October 15, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. CST.

Public comments may be submitted by emailing informalrulecomments@tdi.texas.gov, or by mailing or delivering to:
