DWC Proposes Amendments to Required Notices Rules
The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation has published a proposal to Amend 28 TAC §110.108 and §110.110 regarding Required Notices of Coverage.
Amended Rules 110.108 and §110.110 provide employees with the updated TDI-DWC telephone number to report possible exposure to communicable diseases or HIV, or to inquire about, verify, or report the lack of coverage at construction project sites. The amendments provide updated contact information for TDI-DWC to employees seeking guidance on exposure to a communicable disease and eligibility for benefits, as well as employees inquiring about the requirements of the workers’ compensation system and their employer’s coverage. The amendments also include some minor updates to the agency name and form names adopted by reference.
The proposal will be published in the August 7, 2015 issue of the Texas Register and will be available at www.sos.state.tx.us/texreg/index.shtml once published. A courtesy copy is also available on the Division website at www.tdi.texas.gov/wc/rules/proposedrules/index.html.
