First Responders’ Bill Moves Out of Committee

HB 2771 by Rep. Armando Martinez (D-Weslaco) has been reported out of the House Business & Industry Committee with committee substitute language. The bill next goes to the House Calendars Committee where it will be considered for placement on the House Calendar for consideration. HB 2771 enlarges the definition of course and scope of employment for certain emergency response personnel under the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act. The Committee substitute language has not yet been made available on Texas Legislature Online.
