House Committee Passes TIBs Increase; Sends to the Full House

The House Business & Industry Committee passed SB 901, by Sen Kevin Eltife (R-Tyler), on April 28, 2015 without amendment. The bill will be sent to the Calendars Committee to await consideration by the full House of Representatives. The bill has already passed the Senate. The bill raises the low-wage-earner threshold for increased TIBs benefits from $8.50 per hour to $10.00 per hour. A companion bill, HB 1607, by Rep. Nicole Collier (D-Fort Worth) is on the April 29, 2015 General State Calendar.
