Increase in Reimbursement Rate for DD, RME and Certain Treating Doctor Exams
Effective June 01, 2024, DWC increased reimbursement rates for DD and RME examinations, and for certain treating doctor examinations, as follows:
-
-
- The reimbursement for evaluation of MMI increased from $350 to $449.
- The reimbursement for assessment of impairment rating increased from $300 (for the first body area with ROM) to $385 for the first body area regardless of ROM. Additional body areas were originally $150 each and have now increased to $192 each.
- The reimbursement for all other issues – extent of injury, direct result of disability, return to work, and other issues – is now $642 for each exam. Prior to the change, if a doctor did examinations for those particular issues, the reimbursement was $500 for the first exam, $250 for the second exam, and $125 for the third. That would total $875, as compared to the new total of $1926 as of June 1, 2024.
