Say Hello to FOL’s Newest Attorneys

FOL is extremely happy to welcome aboard Bernardo “Bernie” Paredes and Shea Paul Wood as our newest attorneys. They have hit the ground running, and look forward to traveling the state and to working with you in defending your claims and in helping you navigate Texas Workers’ Comp.

Bernardo “Bernie” Paredes

Bernie was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He came to Austin to attend and graduate from the University of Texas in 2016. He attended St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio where he was a Staff Writer on the St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice, and a member of the National Moot Court Team. He graduated with a J.D. in 2021 and then made the decision to return back to Austin to practice law after graduating from law school.

Outside of work, Bernie enjoys spending time with his family and close friends, living a healthy, active lifestyle, and supporting the Texas Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

Shea Paul Wood

Shea grew up in Aledo, Texas southwest of Fort Worth, and graduated from Texas Tech in 2018 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated from SMU’s Dedman School of Law with his J.D. in 2021, and moved to Austin in 2025. He married his wonderful wife Whitney in 2023 and they welcomed a beautiful daughter not long ago.

Shea is a member and volunteer at The Grove Church in Liberty Hill, Texas, and enjoys watching any and all sports (especially his Texas Tech teams), hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
