Supreme Court Grants Review in Retaliatory Discharge Case

On May 1, 2015, the Texas Supreme Court granted the employer’s petition for review in Kingsaire Inc. v. Jorge Melendez (No. 14-0006) a retaliatory discharge case under Chapter 451 of the Texas Labor Code. A principal issue in the case is whether the El Paso Court of Appeals erred by rejecting the employer’s argument that no evidence established discrimination or retaliation.
